Unlocking Hawaiʻi’s Climate Data: An HCDP Webinar on Tools, Access, and Future Innovations

August 6, 2024

Are you a current user of the Hawaiʻi Climate Data Portal (HCDP) or interested in exploring its features but unsure where to start? HCDP is holding a webinar that will offer a comprehensive introduction to the HCDP’s tools, resources, and functionality. Beginning with an overview of HCDP and the Hawaiʻi Mesonet’s history and objectives, participants will then be guided through a quick tour of the HCDP website, exploring its data visualization capabilities and various functionalities.

The session will then delve into the available data products, focusing on daily and monthly rainfall as well as air temperature and relative humidity. The webinar will highlight the types and the additional data available for each climate product and the three main pathways for accessing HCDP data: through the Visualization Tab, the ExportTab, and the HCDP API. Attendees will also receive a preview of upcoming developments, including new variables and decision support products. The event will conclude with a Q&A session and open discussion, allowing participants to engage directly with the experts.
