On Nov. 20th, UH Hilo’s Manager Climate Corps hosted an interactive workshop involving local natural and cultural resource managers, researchers, graduate students, and community members to discuss current and near-future research needs and potential research support to help Hawaiʻi Island communities adapt to climate change impacts.
MCC student Joanna Norton and her team released a film that gives a 6-minute overview of this co-produced research effort on compost application utilizing invasive albizia trees.
On April 23-25, the Manager Climate Corps presented at the 10th Annual National Adaptation Forum Program within a CASC session focused case studies of collaboration across worldviews for management.
On April 11th, MCC staff and Bethany Morrison (Hawaiʻi County Long Range Planning Dept.) along with two additional presenters held a panel at the 2019 Conference on Island Sustainability regarding climate adaptation policy, planning, and manager-driven research efforts.
