Christopher Kitalong

Dr. Christopher Kitalong is the Vice President of the Cooperative Research and Extension at Palau Community College. He joined the Pacific RISCC Science Advisory Team in September, 2023. Christopher applies his expertise in pharmacology to Palauan traditional plant medicines. This includes identifying plant species and exploring the origin and distribution of these plants, which results in the phytochemical, pharmacological, and clinical assessments of these herbal medicines. He is also vice president at Palau Community College. Christopher is focused on developing capacity in the Pacific to enhance the region’s community health and natural resources through cultural and modern scientific research. He is also passionate about training young members of the scientific community.
