Sasha Kyota

Sasha D. Kyota is the Climate Change Extension Agent for Palau Community College – Cooperative Research and Extension. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise in taro, banana, and orchid tissue culture. Currently, Sasha focuses on studying saltwater intrusion in wetlands, specifically examining which taro varieties are salt-tolerant. In addition to her work in agriculture, she is heavily involved in dengue surveillance and monitoring. Sasha also plays a crucial role in mitigating the impact of coconut rhinoceros beetles and fruit flies in Palau, contributing significantly to the island’s agricultural and environmental health.
