Jacques Idechong is a researcher for the Palau Community College Cooperative Research and Extension Program, based on his home island of Palau, currently focused on developing the island’s research capacity to help address invasive pests. With a background in marine science, he received his Master’s degree in environmental sciences at the University of Guam where he developed a simplified analytical method using software-based modeling and statistics, highlighted the strengths and limitations of marine protection in Micronesia, and revealed novel ecological responses to protection of coral reefs.
