Dr. Laura Brewington co-directs the Pacific Research on Island Solutions for Adaptation (Pacific RISA) program, which is the NOAA Climate Adaptation Partnership team for the US Pacific Islands. She designs and conducts collaborative, policy-oriented research using spatial analytical tools to support climate adaptation in the Pacific Islands. She holds an appointment as a Research Professor at Arizona State University where her work focuses on climate adaptation, biosecurity, and natural resources management. She earned her Ph.D. in geography from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill based on research in agriculture, invasive species, and conservation in the Galapagos Islands.
