Pacific RISCC December 2024 Webinar – Conserving the Kāhuli: Climate Change and Invasive Species Impacts on Native Hawaiian Land Snails

In this talk, Lilly Thomey and Chad Wilhite will discuss the threats faced by kāhuli, native Hawaiian land snails, which include habitat loss, climate change, and predation by invasive species. They will also review their current project to create climate-based estimates of habitat suitability and how to optimize a network of climate resilient kīpuka kāhuli to help secure the future of these extremely rare species in the face of climate change and invasive species.
