CASC Climate Adaptation Technical Services (CATS) is recruiting
CASC Climate Adaptation Technical Services (CATS) is a new, multi-year pilot effort to respond to management needs on climate adaptation. The program provides partners with tailored climate adaptation science, advice, and training to help them rapidly incorporate climate adaptation science into planning and decision-making.
A job announcement to recruit Climate Adaptation Service Scientists with U.S. Geological Survey will post soon to USAJOBS. These positions are part of a new pilot program in the Climate Adaptation Science Centers to provide timely services to resource management partners to foster access, use, and interpretation of available science and scientific data to support climate adaptation. This position will:
- Serve as a project scientist integrating information on climate, ecological process, landscape conditions and management options available to resource managers;
- Develop scientific products, including analysis and synthesis, on climate impacts to support management of natural resources;
- Provide advice, interpretation, and training to resource managers and other professionals in the application or modification of established standards, methods, and procedures to ensure adequate treatment and thorough consideration of climate change;
-
Develop and maintain close collaborations with federal, state, Tribal and other natural resource professionals to ensure alignment of projects with their needs
Learn more about USGS CASC openings at this website, which will be updated with more information and links to the job announcement as soon as it is available, or by setting up an alert through USAJOBS to be notified once the announcement has gone live. Positions can reach their application quota quickly, so we hope this pre-announcement will allow applicants to begin preparing their application materials ahead of the position’s official announcement.
