Hilo Reusable Foodware Program

Hawaiʻi County, in partnership with Zero Waste Hawaiʻi Island, University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program, and Perpetual, has released an RFP to select a service operator for the Hilo Reusable Foodware Program. Supported by $1.5M EPA Solid Waste Recycling Infrastructure (SWIFR) and $622,000 EPA Pollution Prevention(P2) grant funding, the program aims to establish a multi-year agreement to operate and manage this community-wide reuse system. This is an exciting opportunity to help scale reuse in Hilo, Hawaiʻi.
