Science to Management and Policy:
Professional Development Workshop for PI-CASC Scholars

The Pacific Islands Climate Adaptation Science Center is coordinating a series of professional development opportunities for our scholars to engage with others in our network for career training and technical capacity building.
Our first opportunity of the year is Science to Management and Policy: A Professional Development Workshop for PI-CASC Scholars. This virtual event will be held on March 2, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Hawaiʻi time / March 3, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Guam time. Attendees will be able to hear from and interact with four experts in various career paths who apply science to management:
  • Ann Barlow, MS – NOAA, Natural Resource Management Specialist at the Pacific Islands Regional Office
  • Shellie Habel, PhD – University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program, Coastal Geologist Extension Agent
  • Patrick Keeler – Guam Bureau of Statistics and Plan, Watershed Coordinator and University of Guam CARM Fellow
  • Victoria Keener, PhD – Pacific RISA Program, Co-Lead Research Professor / East-West Center, Senior Research Fellow
PI-CASC-funded scholars will be prioritized for this event, but other university students and post-docs from related studies or fields are also welcome to register.
