New U.S. Sea Level Change Website
September 23, 2024
The Interagency Task Force on Sea Level Change, the U.S. Global Change Research Program announced the release of the U.S. Sea Level Change site.
This interagency resource delivers sea level rise projections for the U.S. in an interactive and educational format that allows users to explore past, present, and future sea level rise, associated impacts, and adaptation measures for their area. The scientific information on the site is coupled with foundational educational content and interactive explainers, key takeaways, videos, and audio explainers to help users better understand the data and make science-based decisions.
This new resource is the product of consensus-based, jointly produced science working across the U.S. Government and with agency experts. While the Task Force officially joined USGCRP as a working group earlier this year, the group has supported interagency sea level change science for over a decade, including production of the 2022 Sea Level Rise Technical Report. This site delivers data from the 2022 report and its companion application guide in a more accessible, interactive format to better serve communities. The Task Force also represents an opportunity to combine agency-specific efforts and increase transparency, coordination, and collaboration across the U.S. Government on sea level change.
