Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project is hiring

September 26, 2024

Mosquito-spread disease is driving multiple species of Hawaiian forest birds toward extinction, creating an urgent need for mosquito research and control efforts to save these birds. The Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project is looking for 2 full-time Field Supervisors to lead critical and innovative management techniques for the control of invasive mosquito populations and disease reduction in native birds on Maui. They are spearheading the use of Wolbachia incompatible insect technique for wildlife conservation with the Birds, Not Mosquitoes Partnership. These positions develop, plan, and execute our mosquito research, monitoring, and control efforts and oversee field teams. These positions are also expected to receive training on the use of drones for conservation work. They work with multiple state, federal, private and non-profit agencies and have the opportunity to affect lasting conservation benefits for Hawaiian ecosystems.

Apply by Oct. 11. For more information, visit the job posting.
