Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) is hiring a Natural Resources/Ecosystem Restoration (NR/ER) Field Outreach.
This position conducts a broad spectrum of native ecosystem protection and management activities on the Island of Oahu. Tasks include, but are not limited to, designing, evaluating and implementing weed control, habitat restoration, and environmental education initiatives. Work involves manual, chemical, and mechanical (e.g., weedwhacker) control of non-native plants; vegetation monitoring; seed collection; propagation and outplanting native plants throughout the Oahu Natural Area Reserves (NARS), as well as other managed lands, and presenting environmental outreach messages to the public. Leads field assistants, volunteers and interns on work assignments.
