Assessment of Biodiversity and Climate Change

October 19, 2024

The USGS was charged by the United States Congress with conducting an assessment that characterizes the state of understanding concerning linkages between climate change and biodiversity in the United States. The assessment report will evaluate the relationships between climate and biodiversity in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and adjacent regions as appropriate and identify policy options to conserve biodiversity in the face of climate change. The USGS and its partners seek public comments through December 16 on the draft chapters for the assessment of biodiversity and climate change. For more information, visit the website.
